EdStudiO
In Summer 2023, I had the opportunity to be part of the EdStudiO Teacher Education Student Leadership Team. EdStudiO is a new multidimensional research, teaching, and community space at the University of Ottawa. The programs and new technologies in EdStudiO provide strategies for teachers and educational researchers to integrate computing and computational thinking, digital and physical tools into the classroom practice.
Testing Equipment and Preparing the Space
During our meetings, we tested the various technologies and equipment in the space and brainstormed how we can introduce them to Teacher Candidates. Since the space was still in its preparation phase in the summer, we also helped to set up facilities so that it will be ready for the fall term.

Introduction to EdStudiO
In October 2023, we organized a PLC workshop for second-year Teacher Candidates to learn about EdStudiO. The EdStudiO has four activity zones equipped with different technologies - a Making Space, a Digital Video Production Studio, a Digital Game Zone, and a Collaboration and Ideation Zone.  We used Lego Robotics to demonstrate and give inspiration on how technology can be integrated into lessons.
